Our Story

The uprising of the enslaved people of Haiti on Aug 21st 1791 would be the beginning of a revolutionary movement that would tilt the colonial powers on its axis and change the world forever.  Le Revolisyon of Ayiti is, on record, the largest and most successful revolution in history.

From the insurrection of the enslaved Africans in 1791 to their eventual independence on January 1st 1804, the Haitian people would fight bravely, tirelessly, and without quarter. This led Haiti to be the 2nd free state in Latin America, the 1st free black republic in the West and the only state in history to be founded by enslaved people.

This year Ascendn Mas begins our tour around the Caribbean by honoring the 1st free Black nation!
